Community Acupuncture in the heart of Berkeley

In-person acupuncture services are temporarily suspended.

But we're still here for you!

To protect public health and adhere to state, county, and city health orders, we have temporarily suspended our in-person acupuncture services. We miss you all so much! We will be offering telehealth appointments soon (learn more here) and look forward to continuing to serve our community. We are  following updates closely and are communicating with the City of Berkeley's Health Officer. We will keep you updated on all our changes.

First time visiting? Welcome!

Welcome! We're glad you're here. We encourage you to browse our new site and learn a bit about how we normally practice (outside of the current pandemic). We plan on opening as soon as it's safe to do so and look forward to helping you meet your health goals.

Our Mission

Berkeley Acupuncture Project of California is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide and promote public access to affordable acupuncture. We remove financial, cultural, and educational barriers to patient access to acupuncture as a form of health care, as well as provide continuing education to acupuncture professionals and students, all while providing a living wage for our employees.

BAP is part of a growing movement of community acupuncture clinics striving to remove barriers to receiving acupuncture.  POCA (People's Organization of Community Acupuncture) is community of like-minded acupuncturists, patients, students, and clinics dedicated to the advocacy and promotion of affordable community acupuncture for all. Through community building, micro-lending to clinics opening in underserved areas, the creation of an affordable community acupuncture school --and more-- POCA aims to bring acupuncture to the people!

How We Treat

*In-person services currently on pause.

At Berkeley Acupuncture Project, patients remain fully clothed in comfortable recliners in our quiet, soothing community room. Treating patients this way has several benefits beyond being more affordable. Many people find it comforting to have others around them rather than being isolated in a private room. The group treatment room creates a collective healing energy that enhances the power of each individual’s treatment, and it allows families and friends to visit our clinic together.
