COVID-19 has required us to adapt how we deliver services. We now offer both in-person acupuncture and telehealth. We will continue to evolve and grow and remain committed to providing the most accessible care we can.

Why Did Your Sliding Scale Increase?
To protect the health of our patients and staff, we have reduced our capacity by 25%. The affordable rates of community acupuncture directly correlate to our ability to treat a high volume of patients. We will continue to do everything we can to meet our mission of providing accessible services to our community while providing our staff with a living wage.

How is BAP Doing Financially?
In March of 2020, we temporarily closed the clinic to protect public health and in accordance with Shelter-In-Place orders. We laid off our entire staff and hunkered down with everyone else to ride out the pandemic and economic effects. Sadly, we were unable to continue to afford the rent at our University Ave location (home to BAP for 11 years). To be released from our lease obligations (which expired in December 2021), we settled with our landlords by giving them a portion of our remaining financial obligations. We received a PPP loan which carried us through the summer. We also received donations from patients and the community for which we are so grateful.

Finally, as of November 2021, we have found a new location and are able to start offering services again, and generating our own income. We're used to operating on a tight budget, but our belts are definitely tighter than they've ever been. We are determined to weather this storm and remain a sustainable resource of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for the community!
What About My Pre-Paid Treatments?
You can use your pre-pays for in-person acupuncture (not for telehealth). If you plan to use pre-paid credit for your appointment, just let us know in the "Notes" section when booking online. Many of you have contacted us to donate your pre-paid treatments to BAP which is very generous and appreciated!
